CHN Energy, through its subsidiary Guohua Energy Investment Co., Ltd., has deployed its first fleet of hydrogen-powered passenger vehicles across three key economic zones: the energy golden triangle, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. This deployment, which began in January 2025, marks a significant step in the implementation of the hydrogen mobility plan, an initiative launched by the China Hydrogen Alliance in 2021.
Leveraging its integrated operations across coal, electricity, chemicals and transportation, CHN Energy has established a green hydrogen supply chain and a hydrogen innovation service chain. This infrastructure supports the development of hydrogen technology, the expansion of fuel cell vehicle use and targeted green hydrogen demonstrations across six key areas. The Group is progressively expanding hydrogen applications from road transport to heavier-duty rail and shipping applications. The network of six hydrogen refueling stations, three production facilities and one central base provides comprehensive refueling support for various vehicle types and grades, including quality testing and rapid hydrogen exchange capabilities.
The initial fleet deployment, fueled by the Group's own hydrogen infrastructure, covers areas including the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Base, Rugao Hydrogen Town and Zhangjiakou Hydrogen Development Demonstration Zone, with expansion planned for the broader energy golden triangle, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Yangtze River Delta Economic Belt. As of January 16th, the fleet has logged over 39,530 kilometers and consumed 415 kilograms of hydrogen. CHN Energy plans to further diversify its hydrogen vehicle fleet with engineering vehicles, commercial vehicles, minibuses and heavy trucks.
This initiative aligns with China's Medium and Long-term Plan for Hydrogen Energy Industry Development (2021-2035), which emphasizes transportation sector demonstrations to explore commercial viability. The hydrogen mobility plan, with its goal of establishing a network of one hundred stations and ten thousand vehicles, and promoting hydrogen energy and fuel cell industry demonstration zones, is a key component of this national strategy. CHN Energy remains committed to the development of strategic emerging industries and continues to pursue demonstration applications across various sectors to drive a green and low-carbon energy transition.
This latest substantive progress reinforces the Group's commitment to a cleaner, low-carbon, safer and more efficient energy future.
